Number one seed and last year’s semi-finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated world number 97 Guido Andreozzi to advance to the Estoril quarterfinals. With this win, he became the third player to reach 20 victories this year, after Daniil Medvedev and Guido Pella.

His next opponent is world number 214 Joao Domingues who upset Alex De Minaur and John Millman in the previous rounds.

Gaël Monfils and Reilly Opelka struggled with the windy conditions, and the Frenchman coming back from injury rallied from a set down to defeat the young American 3-6 6-3 6-0.

Monfils will face qualifier Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinals. The young Spaniard cruised past Jérémy Chardy 6-1 6-2 in only 46 minutes.

Number two seed and recent Monte-Carlo champion Fabio Fognini pulled out of the Estoril Open due to a leg injury. He was already forced to skip the Barcelona Open last week.
