The ball boys and ball girls at this year’s Madrid Open will be sporting an ellesse x Surface To Air collaboration design.

ellesse have collaborated with French fashion house Surface to Air to design the kits for the tournament’s ball boys and ball girls.
For the semi finals and finals, trained professional models will take over as ball boys and girls, a concept unique to the Madrid tournament. The professional models will be dressed head to toe in the specially designed ellesse x Surface to Air kits.

This capsule Surface to Air x ellesse Italia collection will be available to buy in limited quantities, offering tennis fans and fashionistas around the globe an opportunity to buy into the magical flair of the Mutua Madrid Open, and the design sensibilities of a Paris fashion house.

ellesse heritage has announced that their line of heritage sneakers will now be available exclusively at Finishline, an athletic retailer with over 660 stores in 47 states.

The range of ellesse heritage sneakers features 2 shoe styles that embody their archive story.

The first is the Assist 1, an iconic 80’s basketball shoe featuring an innovative lacing system and maximum support. While the design is the same as the original, colors are brand new in blacks, reds and greys mixed with pops of color.

The second is 1987’s tennis shoe, the Alassio, presented as a glamorous blend of sport and style. Again, the design stays true to the original with updated summery colors in yellow, blue and white. Both styles will be available online and at select stores starting at the end of March.

What do tennis stars Chris Evert and Guillermo Vilas, ski icon Marc Girardelli and F1 champion Alain Prost have in common? These sporting legends have all been sponsored by italian sports-lifestyle brand ellesse.

The ellesse name is based on the initials LS of its founder, Leonardo Servadio, an Italian tailor with an innovative approach to styling and manufacture.
In 1959, Servadio created a revolutionary stretch ski pant which established ellesse among the elite alpine social circles, making it the ultimate aspirational brand.

The famous half-ball ellesse logo combines the trips of a pair of skis with a cross section of a tennis ball, to symbolize the brand’s heritage in these sports. The ellesse brand is often cited as one of the first ever brands to feature their company logo on the outside of the clothes, a move copied by brands worldwide ever since.
