Roland Garros 2013: day 1 recap part 1
As I’ve already told you, I’ll spend most of the week at Roland Garros. I’m pretty excited to finally watch some live tennis, as my last tournament was Bercy last November.
My first day at Roland Garros started pretty well, with a smiling Vika hitting on court 9:
On my way to Court Philippe Chatrier, a smiling Belgian supporter
and a new look cablecam:
3 former French Open champions were scheduled on Court Philippe Chatrier today: Ana Ivanovic, Serena Williams and Roger Federer.
Ana Ivanovic vs Petra Martic
Empty seats…
Nostalgic Steffi fans:
A great start for Ivanovic who lead 4-0 after 13 minutes of play. She struggled in the second set but managed to advance to the second round after an inconsistent and rather unimpressive 6-1 3-6 6-3 victory over Petra Martic.
Chris Evert commentating the match:
Serena Williams vs Anna Tatishvili
6-0 6-1 for world number one Serena Williams in front of an half asleep crowd.
Roger Federer vs Pablo Carreno Busta
6-2 6-2 6-3 victory for Federer over young qualifier Pablo Carreno Busta.
