Court Suzanne Lenglen

I had one of my best Roland Garros experience in 2007. I had bought tickets for the Benny Berthet Day but couldn’t attend it, and for the second Wednesday.
Usually, I avoid Wednesdays, because the stadiums are overcrowded and full of kids everywhere, but I really enjoyed that sunny day at Roland Garros.

Trophée des légendes
First match on the Suzanne Lenglen that day, an under 45 Legends Trophy match: Leconte/Pioline vs Champion/Cash.

A two time Grand Slam runner up (US Open 93, Wimbledon 97), Pioline won his biggest title in Monte Carlo in 2000. He is now co-director of the Paris Bercy Masters Series tournament.

En attendant Jérémie

I must say, when it comes to talk about Paris and Parisians, I’m totally biased. I found a job and moved to Paris just after I finished college. I was supposed to stay there for at least 2 years, but I gave up after just 18 months. I simply hated this lifestyle, I really had the impression to live to work.

Only one semi-surprise today: Tomas Berdych’ victory over 4th seed Andy Murray.

– Schiavone, Wozniacki, Dementieva and Petrova are through to quarters. Henin finished off her match against Sharapova, she will meet Sam Stosur in round 4.

– Federer, Soderling, Berdych defeated their opponent in straight sets. It was even more easier for Youzhny: Tsonga retired after the loss of the first set due to injury.

More on today’s matches.

Quote of the day: Maria Sharapova “I gave the French fans what they wanted, a Justine win. Merry Christmas!”

Berthillon ice cream cone

Berthillon is a French manufacturer and retailer of luxury ice cream and sorbet. Their “glaces” (ice creams) are considered to be the best in Paris.
Berthillon has been around since 1954. They use all natural ingredients; no preservatives or additives in their products! They’re located at 29-31 Rue Saint Louis en l’ile, in Paris 4e.
I’ve never been there myself, but if you don’t mind queuing 30min just to buy an ice cream, go there and taste it. Check out their website for flavors, sorbets, and specialties of the house.
