#TennisAid 2015: back to Uganda

We told you the story of Martin and Abel’s charity trip to Uganda last year, last month Martin went back to Uganda, to provide sports equipment and tennis lessons to children in need. Pictures and words by Martin:

This shirt was signed by the Spanish Davis Cup team (Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, David Marrero and Conchita Martinez) who defeated Denmark last September, and put up on auction. The proceed of the auction helped fund TennisAid’s trip to Uganda:

Rafa practicing, ATP Finals 2015

A good tournament for Nadal despite his straight sets loss to Djokovic in the semifinal; he beat 3 top 8 (Murray, Wawrinka and Ferrer) on his worst surface, and seems to have found his confidence back. Do you think he’ll be back at his best and win a Grand Slam next year?

Enjoy a few pictures of Rafa practicing:

Novak Djokovic, Bercy Masters 2015

I spent a few days in Paris last week for the BNP Paribas Masters, the ninth and final Masters 1000 event of the season. Novak Djokovic captured the title, dispatching Andy Murray 6-2 6-4 in the final. Enjoy my pictures and recaps of day 1 to day 4.

Rafael Nadal at the BNP Paribas Masters

It seems the good old Rafa is back! He had to battle hard to beat Rosol in Basel last week, but today it was a routine 6-2 6-2 win in 61 minutes. A good attitude, great forehands, a few aces when needed and a smiling Rafa who signed dozens of autographs for the kids at the end of the match.

Rafa seemed to have trouble finding his rythm and missed lots of volleys. He’ll play his second round singles match against Lukas Rosol tomorrow.
