Once regarded as a future star of women’s tennis, Julia Georges, 25, has fallen to rank 89. She has failed to reached the third round of a major this year and was beaten by Flavia Pennetta in the first round of the 2014 US Open.
Pennetta, semifinalist here last year will face American Shelby Rogers in the next round.
