Queen’s tournament: Wednesday recap
I was back at Queen’s club on Wednesday but this time on Centre Court:
Marin Cilic def Arnaud Clement 6-4 6-4
Not much to say about the match, but it’s nice to see a bit of volley game.
Those grass courts are beautiful, did you know that grass is cut at exactly 7mm?
Do you recognize this line judge?
No? Really? Serena Williams, US Open…
And comes the rain.
Juan Martin del Potro at practice:
The 2009 US Open champion is practising on Court 10 under the rain:
The sun comes back:
Players are back on Centre Court after an hour rain-delay:
Andy Murray def Xavier Malisse 6-3 5-7 6-3
Malisse and Murray play a few games, and… it rains again!
Xavier Malisse made it all during the match: the faults and the points. Nice to see him attack the net. Quite amazing to watch him play, everything seems so easy. But what a waste of talent!
As for Murray, I don’t like his game, I don’t like his attitude and I don’t understand how he can be so passive during his matches: apart from a few drop shots or passing shots, he didn’t show anything in this match.
Next, the complete opposite of Murray: 6-times French Open champion Rafael Nadal.
I was surprised at how much Rafael Nadal seem to be appreciated here in England. He has been much more applauded than Scott Andy Murray.
Rafael Nadal def Matthew Ebden 6-4 6-4
It was already 7pm when this match started, that’s why the del Potro – Kunitsyn match initially scheduled on Centre Court was moved to Court 10 and was played at the same time than Nadal-Ebden, so I couldn’t watch it, but I will post more pics of Juan Martin’s practice.
A few pics of Rafa:
More pics of Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro and Rafael Nadal coming soon.
