Elena Dementieva is the first to qualify for the quarterfinals after her victory over qualifier Chanelle Scheepers 6-1 6-3. Her next opponent: the winner of the match Nadia Petrova-Venus Williams.

14.45: break for Venus in the second set 2-0. First set: 6-4 Petrova

14.48: big battle on the Suzannne Lenglen court between Caroline Wozniacki and Flavia Pennetta 7-6 1-0 for the Dane.

It really pisses me off when I see this half empty stadium because I didn’t manage to get tickets. So people have tickets and don’t go watch the matches, can anybody explain it to me?

15.08 2 break points for Petrova. First saved by an ace.
Unforced error on the second break point and Petrova leads now 6-4 4-3.

15.12 Petrova holds her serve and 5-3 for the Russian in the second set.

15.16 0-30 on Venus serve.

15.19 6-4 6-3 for Petrova. There will be a russian player in semifinals.

15.22 Next on the Court Phillippe Chatrier, the battle of Switzerland: Roger Federer vs Stanislas Wawrinka

15.50 and second set for Flavia Pennetta! 7-6
I must say that Pennetta is a player I like very much, she’s not the biggest talent but she fights and gives all she has and I like that.

16.00 Break for Wozniacki 2-0 in the third. Federer leads 4-2 first set.

16.05 and Flavia breaks back: 1-2, Pennetta to serve.

16.24 7-6 6-7 6-2 for Wozniacki after nearly 3 hours of play!

16.26 First for Federer but Wawrinka broke him early in the second set.

16.48 Federer broke back: 6-3 4-4 for the world number one.
Cilic-Soderling: 1-1 first set.

16.57 Exchange of breaks of serve between Cilic and Soderling. Is this the Wozniacki-Pennetta match again?

17.15 6-3 7-6 for Federer. Wawrinka plays well but doesn’t convert his many opportunities. 6-4 for last year finalist Soderling over Cilic.

17.35 Fed cruises 6-2 in the third and final set.

18.09 Soderling leads now 2 sets to love, 3-1

18.15 The Swede is totally in control of the match, he leads 4-2 and could face Federer in quarters for a rematch of last year’s final.

18.24 So, it was easier than expected for the Sod who defeats Cilic in straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-2.

18.30 What a disappointment force Tsonga who is forced to withdraw due to injury (once again). So, Youzhny is through to the quarters.

Well, I’m kinda disappointed by today’s matches, the most interesting ad disputed match was in fact Wozniacki-Pennetta.
Final match of the day: Andy Murray-Tomas Berdych. Last time they met was in 2006! They met twice overall, with one victory apiece.

20.15 Play suspended by rain: 6-4 3-4 for Berdych.

20.40 Murray and Berdych are back on court to resume their match.

21.30 Straight sets win for Berdych over Murray: 6-4 7-5 6-3.
