Estoril Open 2016: first title in four years for Almagro

Former top 10 Nicolas Almagro defeated Pablo Carreno Busta in an all Spanish final in Estoril. It’s his first trophy since his victory in Nice in 2012. The match was indecise till the very last games: Almagro lost the first set on tiebreak, then served several times for the second set and finally went on winning 6-7 7-6 6-3.

In the other ATP tournaments of the week, Philipp Kohlschreiber defeated Dominic Thiem in a thrilling 7-6 4-6 7-6 BMW Open final in Munich; and Diego Schwartzman rallied from 6-7 2-4 down to stun Grigor Dimitrov in Istanbul 6-7 6-4 6-0. Dimitrov went totally berzerk in the last game of the match and smashed three rackets. Dimitrov put more effort in destroying his rackets than in his game.
