Barcelona Open 2019: Dominic Thiem, new King of Barcelona
Second trophy of the season for Dominic Thiem, his 13th overall, after his easy 6-4 6-0 victory over Daniil Medvedev.
“Only great players have won here. Rafa has won it 11 times and it means a lot that Muster won it twice. It’s a big moment for me.”
“I tried my best, but Dominic was too good,” said Medvedev. “At one point today, even just getting a point off him was a great achievement.”
Next stop for both players: Madrid, where all the best players will be playing, even Federer who makes his comeback on clay.
