Thanks to his win over 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro, Stan Wawrinka reaches the US Open semifinals for the third time in four years. He will face Kei Nishikori who upset world number two Andy Murray.

I'm spending a few days in Le Touquet for the Borotra Cup, the 16&under Summer Cup. French won the trophy last year and are once again the favourite but Serbia is a serious contender for the final victory. I've been lucky to attend a few Davis Cup ties in the recent years, both in France and Belgium. My second Davis Cup tie was the Belgium vs Canada QF in 2015. Hosted in Middelkerke near Ostend on the Belgian coast, it was played in a relaxed and family atmosphere, really different from the crazy 2014 Davis Cup final I attended a few months before. Belgium defeated Canada 3-0 and went on to reach the final a few months later.
