2011 Australian Open: Day 3 recap

Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils advanced to the third round in 4 sets.
The task was much more difficult for Roger Federer who needed 5 sets to defeat former top 10 player Gilles Simon. The world No.2 next faces Belgian Xavier Malisse in the third round.
It was also a tough day for Venus Williams and Francesca Schiavone, who battle 3 sets to win over -respectively- Sandra Zahlavova and Rebecca Marino.
Venus apparently suffered a muscle injury near her groin but with the Williams, you never know…

Verdasco came back from two sets to love, saved 4 match points and finally prevailed 2-6 4-6 6-4 7-6 (0) 6-0.
